Virat Kohli, the skipper of the Indian national team, has pulled his socks up and started working for the ones affected in the COVID-19 pandemic. The 32-year-old, recently, was a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. However, the tournament had to be postponed for an indefinite time period due to the pandemic.
Ever since the coronavirus started wreaking havoc last year, Kohli has been pretty vocal about taking precautionary measures to stay safe. Recently, he was spotted with Yuva Sena member Rahul N Kanal where they held a dialogue about the incredible movement.

On Tuesday itself, it was learned that the IPL would be postponed. The Board of Control for Cricket in India was clear cut in saying that it didn’t want to compromise on the safety of the ones, involved in the T20 tournament.
“We have suspended the IPL for now. The new window will be worked out later on. A statement will follow soon,” IPL Governing Council chairman Brijesh Patel told.
“The Indian Premier League Governing Council (IPL GC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an emergency meeting has unanimously decided to postpone IPL 2021 season, with immediate effect,” the BCCI stated in an advisory.
“The BCCI does not want to compromise on the safety of the players, support staff and the other participants involved in organising the IPL. This decision was taken keeping the safety, health and wellbeing of all the stakeholders in mind.”
Among cricketers, Amit Mishra, Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive for the virus. In the support staff and other categories, Laxmipathy Balaji, Michael Hussey and a bus driver tested positive. In the meantime, the BCCI is seeming to look at a September window to finish the remaining matches of the tournament.
